John Simpson Kirk Patrick

John Simpson Kirkpatrick was born in England, in southward Shields to a Scottish couple in 1892. Simpson was educated from the age of 6 to his 13th birthday, learning how to read and write fluently. In June 1903 he decided to leave school and start work on a horse drawn milk delivery run. He was a member of the Territorial the States (the British Army defend corps) serving with the Royal Field Artillery in a Howitzer Battery at South Shields. In 1909 Simpsons father died and he wanted to follow in his footsteps, so he joined the Merchant Navy at 17 years of age, working as a fire commoveer and steward. On May 1910 he jumped ship at refreshedcastle, New South Wales. On 25th of August 1914 in Perth, occidental Australia he joined the Aif and the Australian Army Medical Corps. Kirkpatrick believed that the he would endure a free pass to England by connection the Aif, to guard the German Empire forces.
